Combining models, duplicate bone issue
Hi!
I've been registered for a while, 'cause I've been lurking, ya know? Trying to learn? Whatevs. I've been trying to piece together models and been running into a bunch of errors. But I finally succeeded by clicking random buttons. Maybe that's the problem.
I combined two parts from models that were different sizes (which I fixed) and had a different "curve" of the back.
I managed to fix the curve of the back and fill a gap in the belt line by "moving" the bones (switching to move mode and adjusting) and saving the generic item with "change armature" and "default pose" selected. Once I knew the edges would line up, I combined the models the way the tutorial on this forum said to do.
Okay, so here is the issue - I have duplicates of the thigh bones. One belonging to the top and one belonging to the bottom. I left the top's bones alone, because they weren't removed via "save only visible" and "hide unused", and there wasn't anything I knew that could do something about it anyways. But now I have a problem. I can't move the model's legs.
Although one pair of the thigh bones belong to the lower part of the body (the legs), they do not move the legs. All four of those bones seem to now be assigned to the upper body, which makes my model's legs above the knee useless.
So- the reason I'm posting. Can you guys tell me what went wrong, or at least tell me how to fix this? Because I don't have a clue and this is the only place on the internet that I've found that has any type of tutorial or community of people working with XNALara modding.
Please.

Re: Combining models, duplicate bone issue
Sorry for the long delay. My health is not very high.
Congratulations on your work. Thank you for the exact description.
Difficult to say what was the error if the whole steps are unknown.
You can send me the model with private message. Then I can see the bone hierarchy and the "bone weights". After that, I can describe how to fix the problem. Or I can eliminate the BUG. Less effort for me.
Describe what you prefer.
BTW: Sorry for my English. I am aware, for a native speaker this is painful.
